Electives for Engineering

Best subjects to have as Electives for Engineering

Electives are often chosen by the students based on their own interest or institution may give them choice for selection. Following are the best electives for the engineering.

  1. Mechatronics- Mechatronics is a branch which has an integration of Electrical, Electronics, computing as well as mechanical engineering. Basically, it is combination of 3-4 branches. Recently, in the industries, for the development of robots, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gantry automation, single piece flow of the materials, person from mechatronics is highly recommended.

  2. CADCAM- it consists of designing and development of the products, ideas, themes on the computer with the help of various software’s such as CATIA, Mastercam, Solid works, ZWCAD etc. CADCAM is essential for the NPD, concept development, designing the machining path on the software etc. For the designing, R&D, CADCAM engineers are always needed.

  3. AI and ML- Artificial intelligence and machine learning is now the upcoming world.  Machine learning is the new field which gives the machines capacity to work without been done programming.  Ex of ML- Chatbot, Amazon Alexa etc. AL and ML is much needed expertise in current world.

  4. Supply Chain management- SCM is the series where chain from manufacturer to customer is been connected. SCM consist of material management, product management, costing, transportation, time management and time study. Smoothly production of the products at optimum level in the controlled costing and timely delivery to the customer is the success of the SCM. Supply chain manager have high demand in manufacturing, FMCG, oil sector.

  5. TPM- It is total productive maintenance. Aim of TQM is for the waste elimination, productivity improvement, customer focus and strategic approach and cost control in any organisation TPM consist of eight pillars on which its success is measured in the industry. It also consists of 16 major losses on which we have to work. TPM trained professionals have high demand in every sector.
